Responsible Gaming

This page explains how we work to keep play safe at Oreels Casino: the limits and breaks you can set yourself, the warning signs worth watching for, and the organisations that offer free, confidential help. Every tool described here is open to every account holder, at any time, without needing our permission.

Our commitment to safer gambling

Gambling is a form of entertainment, paid for out of money you can afford to lose. It is not a way to earn an income, and it is not a way to win back money that has already gone. For most of our customers it stays that way, and the tools on this page exist so that it keeps staying that way.

Before you deposit, we ask you to settle two figures in your own mind: how much you are prepared to spend over a week or a month, and how long you want to spend playing. Treat the first figure as the price of the entertainment, in the same way you would treat a cinema ticket or a meal out. If a session takes you past either figure, the right response is to stop for the day rather than to deposit again.

  • We will not encourage you to chase a loss, to deposit more than you planned, or to keep playing once you have asked us for a break.
  • Any limit you set takes effect straight away where it makes your play safer, and only after a cooling-off period where it would loosen a limit already in place.
  • Our staff are trained to watch for patterns of play that suggest gambling is causing harm, and to act on what they see.
  • We hold a gaming licence, we verify the age and identity of every customer, and we keep records of the checks we carry out.
  • Anything you tell us about gambling harm is treated in confidence and used only to help keep your account safe.

18+ only

Our services are for adults aged 18 or over. It is an offence for anyone under 18 to gamble. If we find that an account belongs to an underage player, we close it, void any winnings and return the amount deposited.

The tools in your account and how to switch them on

All of our safer gambling settings sit in one place: the responsible gambling section of your account, reachable from the cashier once you are signed in. You do not need to ask us to apply them, and setting one has no effect on a withdrawal that is already being processed.

Deposit, loss and session limits

You can cap how much you pay in, how much you lose on balance, and how long a single session runs. Choose the period and the amount from the options shown in your account. A reduction takes effect immediately. A request to raise or remove a limit is held for a cooling-off period and then needs confirming from you, so that no limit is loosened in the middle of a session.

Time-outs and self-exclusion

A time-out is a short break: you choose the length from the options in your account, and during it you cannot log in to play, although you can still withdraw a remaining balance. Self-exclusion is a longer commitment for the minimum period shown in your account, and it cannot be lifted early for any reason. In both cases we stop sending you marketing and close the account to play for the period you have chosen.

Reality checks

A reality check is a reminder that appears at an interval you set, telling you how long you have been playing and what you have staked in that time. You can then carry on or close the session. It is a small thing, but it is the single easiest way to notice that an intended twenty minutes has turned into two hours.

  1. Sign in and open the cashier.
  2. Go to the responsible gambling section of your account.
  3. Choose the tool you want and the period or amount that suits you.
  4. Confirm your choice; the setting is shown in your account once it is live.
  5. If you cannot find a setting, ask us on live chat or e-mail support@casino-oreels.co.uk and we will apply it for you.

Signs that gambling may be causing harm

Problems rarely start with one large loss. They usually build out of small habits. Go through the list below honestly and see how much of it sounds like you.

  • You spend more than you planned, more often than not.
  • You deposit again straight after a loss in order to win it back.
  • You gamble with money set aside for rent, bills, food or debts.
  • You borrow money, sell things or use credit to keep playing.
  • You hide how much you play, or lie about it to family or friends.
  • You play to escape stress, boredom, loneliness or low mood.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
  • Gambling is affecting your work, your sleep or your relationships.

If two or three of these fit, treat it as a reason to pause rather than something to argue with. Set a deposit limit or a time-out today, and speak to one of the organisations below. Doing so costs nothing and does not go on any public record.

Where to get free, confidential help

Support in the United Kingdom is free, independent of us and available whether or not you still hold an account.

  • GambleAware funds and signposts free treatment, advice and prevention services across Great Britain, and publishes plain guidance on how gambling harm develops.
  • GamCare provides free counselling, group sessions and self-help resources for people affected by gambling, including family members and friends.
  • GamStop is the free national self-exclusion scheme that blocks you from gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for a period you choose when you register.
  • The National Gambling Helpline offers confidential advice and support at any hour, every day of the year, for anyone worried about their own gambling or someone else's.

We can point you in the right direction

If you would like the contact details for any of these organisations, ask us on live chat or e-mail support@casino-oreels.co.uk. We will send them to you without asking why.

Protecting people under 18

Only adults aged 18 or over may hold an account or place a stake with us. We verify the age and identity of every customer, and we may repeat those checks at any point while your account is open. Where verification cannot be completed, we suspend play until it is.

Most underage gambling happens on a shared device belonging to an adult. A few simple habits make that far less likely:

  • Do not let a browser or app store your log-in details, and sign out when you finish.
  • Keep payment cards and banking apps out of reach of children.
  • Install parental control or content-filtering software on shared computers, tablets and phones to block gambling sites.
  • Set up separate user profiles so that children never use your signed-in account.

If you believe someone under 18 has used your account, tell us at once on live chat or by e-mail at support@casino-oreels.co.uk so that we can secure it and look into what happened.
